Addie's First Birthday

This is Addie!  I took her first birthday photos this morning and we decided to try the "smash the cake" theme.  While Addie was reluctant at first, you'll be able to see she warmed up quite a bit.  Along with digging into the cake eventually! Mom and Dad squeezed in for a family shot as well. Adorable family :) I had so much fun with this shoot and hope they did as well.  Happy birthday Addie!

The end of the season for Bridgeport

Last weekend I was in Bridgeport for the Sound Tigers final game of their 10th Anniversary season.  They played the Albany Devils on Sunday, April 10.  Goalie Mikko Koskinen had 46 saves - a season high.  Jeremy Colliton was awarded the Sound Tigers all time leading scorer award at the beginning of the game, along with receiving the first star for that afternoons game.  The AHL All-Star and All-Rookie honor award went to Rhett Rakhshani this season as he led the Sound Tigers in goals, assists, and points. Final 4-3 Bridgeport Sound Tigers.

The Sound Tigers took on the Charlotte Checkers on March 18. With the Checkers leading 2-1, Rob Hisey forced the game into overtime scoring a shorthanded goal with 22.3 seconds left in regulation.  After a scoreless 5 minutes of over time,  the Checkers then took home the win in the sixth round of the shootout. Final 3-2 Charlotte Checkers.

Detroit Red Wings vs Toronto Maple Leafs

This past Saturday I shot the Detroit Red Wings vs Toronto Maple Leafs game at the Joe Louis Arena in Detroit, MI. (Special thanks to Dave!!)  The Joe is one of the oldest arena's still being played in by NHL teams.  I got to experience my first toss of the octopus.  Legend has it, "Each tentacle of the octopus was symbolic of a win in the playoffs. Back then, the NHL boasted only six teams, and eight wins (two best-of-seven series) were needed to win the Stanley Cup. The Red Wings swept the series that year."  This started in 1952 and has been their good luck charm to this day.

5 minutes into the first, forward Henrik Zetterberg scored a power play goal on Maple Leafs goalie James Reimer.  Halfway through the second, another power play goal was scored. This time by forward Tomas Holmstrom.  In the third, Jiri Hudler's slap shot founds it's way into the back of the net putting the Wings up 3-2.  At 13 left in the third, the Wings goalie Jimmy Howard was injured.  Backup goalie Joey MacDonald replaced him to play the final 13 minutes, making 7 saves. With a minute left in the third the Maple Leafs goalie was pulled and veteran forward Todd Bertuzzi scored an empty netter.

The Red Wings won 4-2.

Howard is currently day-to-day with a sprained left shoulder.

Introducing Mr. and Mrs. Binkley

Yesterday was the wedding of Bailey Noll and Alexander Binkley.  The rain definitely did not put a damper on these nuptials. This is probably one of the cutest couples I have ever seen! There ceremony was beautiful, the isle was lit by candlelight as her father walked her down to give her away. After the couple exchanged their vows, and a few portraits were taken, (with zebra and cheetah umbrellas) the party began. There was never an empty dance floor, and the group was relentless on letting the groom get to his bride after the "Money Dance." So much love and happiness at this wedding. I wish the new Mr. and Mrs. Binkley happiness and all the very best!
