On Saturday I traveled to Wilkes-Barre Scranton to shoot the Sound Tigers take on the Penguins for their last regular season away game. Plum native (close to where I grew up) Kenny Reiter was in net for the Sound Tigers, making his professional debut after signing an amateur tryout contract following the end of his collegiate career at the University of Minnesota-Duluth. Reiter made 26 saves that night. Scoring just over 20 seconds into the game, Mike Halmo tallied his first professional goal. In the third period Tyler McNeely scored his eighth goal of the season. The Sound Tigers fell to the Penguins 3-2.
The Sound Tigers finished their season by defeating the Penguins 3-2 on Sunday. They closed out the regular season as the Northeast Division Champs, with a record of 41-26-3-6 and begin the Calder Cup playoff series against the Connecticut Whale on Thursday, April 19, at 7:00 at Webster Bank Arena.
