Spontaneity, Sunshine and Sound Tiiiigers... raaaar!

Last weekend I took a spontaneous trip to Connecticut.  The drive was long but the weather was gorgeous.  It was my first time shooting the Sound Tigers this season.  (Where does the time go?!)  They won the past 5 home games and as I hoped, they continued their streak by winning both games Saturday and Sunday.

Saturday's game was a major comeback against the Providence Bruins.  In an exciting third, Sound Tigers goals were scored by Justin DiBenedetto, Trevor Frischmon, Sean Backman, and Scott Howes.  Captain Jeremy Colliton then scored the game-winning goal as he recorded his 200th career AHL point.  Kevin Poulin*, who recently returned after being called up to the NHL affiliate, New York Islanders was in net.

The Bridgeport Sound Tigers beat The Providence Bruins 5-4.

At Sunday afternoon game, the Sound Tigers were down 2-0 against the Albany Devils at the end of the second. In the third period Tony Romano put one in the net, followed by two from Aaron Ness to win the game.  In net was Anders Nilsson* who made 30 saves.

The Bridgeport Sound Tigers beat The Albany Devils 3-2.

Post game, Rhett Rakhshani (out with concussion symptoms) and Matt Donovan signed autographs.

*Nilsson was called up to the New York Islanders on Sunday the 4th.  He made 24 saves to record his first NHL win/shutout against the New Jersey Devils. Nilsson was also named the Reebok/AHL Goaltender of the Month for February by The American Hockey League. Poulin was named Reebok/AHL Goaltender of the Month for January.

White dress, Newsie caps, suspenders, and sparklers.

Saturdays wedding was out in Blairsville/Indiana, PA.  Gigantic snow flakes threatened us through the afternoon but slowly turned to rain and soon nothing.  With Kayla in her white dress and red lipstick and Bobby in his newsie cap and suspenders, the vibe of this event was nothing short of fun!  Bobby was hilarious and Kayla sweet and calm the entire day.  Instead of your usual limo, the bridal party shuttled off to the reception in a trolley. While that was creative, my favorite part of the night was the guests sending off the newleyweds with sparklers! Here is a sneak peek...

 The bridesmaids bouquets.

Loved the bridesmaids dresses - they had pockets!!

Kayla had her bridesmaids sign the bottoms of her shoes, so cute.

3 generations.

Brooks Richard

I am officially an aunt!  On the evening of Sunday the 15th we got the call that my sister in law Shana's water broke.  Shana and my brother Marc live in Viriginia Beach so my parents and I quickly packed some clothes and hopped in the car to start the 7 hour journey to Virginia!  (Of course we also bought the much needed travel snacks.  Twizzlers, pretzel rods, and M&M's.)  Once we arrived, took a trip to the vending machines and attempted a snooze on waiting room couches my brother came in to let us know a bouncing baby boy was welcomed into the world.  Congratulations to Marc and Shana on the newest addition to their family, Brooks Richard!  I can't wait to spoil this little nugget like crazy.

This photo makes me smile. Three generations of Tokarski's, my dad, brother, and nephew.

My brother changing his very first diaper! Ah!!

Engagement Session with Alison and AJ

A few weeks ago I shot with Alison and AJ at the Frick Park Environmental Center.  I am also shooting their wedding this summer so it felt great to get out with them and take some photos.  We had a beautiful fall day, here is a sneak peak at their engagement session!

Mr. and Mrs. Baleno

I had so much fun with Lori and Char on their wedding day!!  There were so many little touches that added great color to day. Lori's something blue was a pair of Badgley Mischka heels (which I loved photographing,) and Char's only request was that his boutiner was orange like he had seen at a previous wedding because he had liked how it looked!  I love how these things stand out in some of the photos.

I do have to say, this was my favorite church to shoot in so far. The stain glass windows were incredible and added so much color and character to the setting during the ceremony. We were also lucky to have a beautiful day for outdoor photos before the reception began. This was my first time shooting on Mount Washington and I loved it. Congrats Lori and Char! Here is the sneak peak of the new Mr. and Mrs. Baleno.
